Pool Noodle Light Hack

Pool noodle ring lights have exploded in popularity because theyโ€™re cheap, lightweight, and surprisingly stylish. A single pool noodle costs just a few dollars and can make multiple rings. Once wrapped in LED lights, these simple foam pieces look like high-end dรฉcor youโ€™d find in a boutique โ€” without the high-end price tag.

Theyโ€™re also incredibly easy to work with. Because pool noodles are feather-light, you can hang them from ceilings, trees, walls, or patios without heavy hardware. Anyone can make them โ€” if you can slice foam and wrap string lights, you have the skills.

To get started, youโ€™ll need pool noodles, LED string lights (battery, USB, or plug-in), a sharp knife, and tape, zip ties, or low-temp hot glue. Optional extras like ribbon, faux flowers, greenery, mesh, or spray paint let you customize the look.
