After the storm, the toilet looked like something out of a nightmare. Brown, wriggling shapes floated in the bowl, moving just enough to make it feel unreal. Panic set in immediately, with fears of parasites, sewer creatures, or something dangerous coming up through the pipes.
But a closer look revealed a very different truth. They werenโt worms or parasites at allโthey were tadpoles, an early stage in a frogโs life cycle.
Heavy rain likely created the right conditions for frogs to enter through open windows, vents, or drains and lay eggs in standing water. What seemed frightening was actually a small, accidental ecosystem forming indoors.
