Former First Lady Michelle Obama and Former President Barack Obama met in 1988 and married in 1992. The pair share two daughters, Sasha and Malia, and always seemed to have a happy marriage. Recently, however, Michelle Obama has been noticeably absent from several big events, including President Donald Trumpโs inauguration, which sparked divorce rumors. The pair kept quiet about speculations for months, but Michelle finally set the record straight. She told the Work In Progress With Sophia Bush podcast that her life is busy.โThatโs the thing that we as women, I think we struggle with disappointing people,โ Michelle said. โI mean, so much so that this year people wereโฆthey couldnโt even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.โ
Michelle Obama Doesnโt Like The Stereotypes
Michelle Obama said that itโs totally appropriate for a woman to make her own choices about what she wants to do, and just because she isnโt pinned to her husbandโs side every minute of the day doesnโt mean they will divorce.
โBut thatโs what society does to us,โ she said. โWe start actually, finally going, โWhat am I doing? Who am I doing this for?โ And if it doesnโt fit into the sort of stereotype of what people think we should do, then it gets labeled as something negative and horrible.โ

A fan shared her hope in the comment section that Michelle Obama and Barack Obama never divorce. โYup!! Yโall better NEVER break up! Love yโall!!โ
