AI Shows Lifelike Image of Jesus Based on Shroud of Turin

AI recreates Jesus’ face from the Shroud of Turin, sparking debates over historical accuracy and religious authenticity.

Artificial intelligence has been employed to generate a realistic depiction of Jesus Christ, utilizing the Shroud of Turin—a linen cloth many believe to be his burial garment. The AI-generated image portrays a man with shoulder-length hair, a beard, and facial wounds, aligning with traditional representations of Jesus.

The Shroud of Turin is a 14-foot linen cloth that bears the faint image of a man, which some believe to be Jesus. Preserved in the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista in Turin, Italy, since 1578, the shroud has been a subject of religious veneration and scientific scrutiny. Recent studies using advanced X-ray technology suggest the cloth may date back approximately 2,000 years, aligning with the era of Jesus Christ.
