My DIL, who was attending for the first time, brought a store-bought dish, stating, \u201cMy time is valuable; I\u2019m not a SAHM like you!\u201d I said nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Since this isn\u2019t homemade, I thought you wouldn\u2019t mind using paper plates, so I set disposable plates next to her dish at dinner.<\/p>\n<p>I hoped this would be helpful because I know you\u2019re busy. \u201cIt\u2019s not about having time\u2014it\u2019s about making time and showing respect for this family,\u201d I said as she started to cry and tried to explain<\/p>\n<p>My son then accused me of being disrespectful to his wife and insisted that I issue a public apology.
